For those who wish to know-
The plantar fascia is the ligament that connects your toes to the heel of the foot. And plantar fasciitis is caused when this ligament gets weak or swollen. You might be experiencing a sharp pain at the heel or bottom of the foot when walking; especially after sitting down for a long time. Plantar fasciitis is the reason.
Although this can happen to anyone at any age, it is more common among middle-aged people. But your age may not be the only trigger-
Increased activity; A lot of standing or walking
Poor or old footwear
Your foot “mechanics”. Flat feet, high arcs, or poor walking posture may put stress on the plantar fascia
Obesity or sudden weight gain
Misalignments in the spine
There can be many complications of living with plantar fasciitis. A big one as you might already know–is the debilitating pain that comes with it. It may keep getting harder to get through the day. And in some cases, patients sub-consciously “alter” their walking style to help with the pain; and this opens up new problems around their hips, back, or knees.
